Yoga for People Who Can't Be Bothered to Do It
by Geoff Dyer.
I couldn't be bothered to finish this book.
I just can't relate to a 40 something bachelor and his earth wandering tales.
If you can, then get the book here.

Not Buying It
By Judith Levine.
Lots of psychological and social analysis, less personal stories which was disappointing. But I guess writing about not doing something is tricky.
Off the Record
by Elizabeth White.
Thank you, evangelical Christians, for providing me with all these free novels.

Little Women
by Louisa May Alcott.
It took me sooooo long to read this, but it was worth it. I read it for the YA challenge, and I must confess, I thought it was boring as hell when I WAS a YA. But I enjoyed this time around.
A tangent: I think Beverly Cleary spoiled me for more complex literature when I first started devouring books. Don't get me wrong, Beverly Cleary is wonderful. Her books are clever, relatable, and devoid of too much description. I read everything she wrote over and over again. When I was around 8 years old, my aunt, seeing my book obsession, gifted me with the Anne of Green Gables series, sure that I would adore it just as much. I'm sure they are very good, but even as an adult I can't get through the first chapter because the writing is lousy with description. My busy brain is disinterested - who cares what every nook of the house looks like, just get to the point of the story.
Little Women is a nice balance of story and description, but it is terribly long. And I didn't cry when Beth died.

Saving Fish From Drowning
by Amy Tan.
This was really excellent. It had been too long since I'd read a really well-written adult novel.

My Soul to Lose
by Rachel Vincent.
This barely counts as a book. And it wasn't good enough for me to shell out 10 bucks for the sequel.

The Making of a Chef
by Michael Ruhlman.
This would have made me hungry if not for the frequent mentions of veal bones. Ew.

Eat, Pray, Love
by Elizabeth Gilbert.
Note the lag. This is the problem with reading 4 books at once.
P.S. Memoirs are SO self-indulgent
